  • Learning to Lead

    The challenge

Being promoted into leadership does not automatically make someone a leader. New managers are often set up to fail – promoted because they were excellent at their previous role, then left to figure out the people side without formal support.

Without foundational leadership skills they default to micromanaging, avoid difficult decisions or fail to establish credibility with their team. None of this is a character flaw. It is a training gap.

The transition from individual contributor to people leader is one of the most significant and most undertrained, shifts in any professional’s career.

This program gives new and emerging leaders the essential skills, confidence and frameworks to make the leadership transition quickly and sustainably before the gaps in their capability become visible problems.

    • New managers and supervisors stepping into their first formal leadership role
    • High-potential employees being prepared for leadership responsibilities

  • How CTO makes the learning stick

    Before training

CTO works with you and your nominated contact to understand the experience level and context of participants – what roles they are moving into, what challenges they are already experiencing and what the organisation most needs from its emerging leaders.

    During training

Participants engage in practical exercises including role-plays, real-scenario discussions and peer reflection. The facilitator draws on real workplace situations rather than abstract theory throughout the session.

    After training

Participants receive a practical leadership reference guide. Follow-up programs including Excellence in supervision and Coaching for development are available to deepen capability as leaders grow into their roles.
