    The challenge

Most people manage projects long before they receive any formal training in how to do it. They learn on the job, which means they also absorb the habits, assumptions and gaps of whoever managed projects before them. The result is projects that drift, scope that expands without agreement and deliverables that land late or incomplete.

Formal project management certifications are valuable but not always practical for professionals who need to deliver projects effectively as part of a broader role. What most project managers actually need is a solid, practical foundation: how to scope properly, how to plan realistically, how to manage risk before it becomes a crisis and how to keep stakeholders informed and aligned.

Most projects do not fail because of bad ideas. They fail because of poor planning, unclear accountability and communication that does not keep up with the work.

This program builds exactly that foundation – practical project management skills that non-certified professionals can apply immediately to the projects they are managing right now.

    Who should attend

    • Project managers and project coordinators without formal project management certification
    • Team leaders and managers regularly responsible for delivering internal projects and initiatives
    • Business analysts, marketing managers and operational staff who manage projects as part of their broader roles
    • Anyone who has managed projects by instinct and wants a structured, reliable framework to work from

Ready to deliver projects that land on time and to the brief?

  • How CTO makes the learning stick

    Before training

CTO works with you and your nominated contact to understand the types of projects your team typically manages – the scale, the tools used, the stakeholder complexity and the most common failure points. The session is designed around your actual project environment rather than generic project management theory.

    During training

Participants apply project planning frameworks to a real or representative project from their own working context. Scope documents, schedules and risk registers are built during the session rather than introduced as concepts only.

    After training

Participants leave with a practical project planning toolkit including scope definition templates, Gantt planning guides and a risk register framework. Follow-up programs, including Time management and Strategic planning, are available for teams building a broader planning and organisation capability.
