Most people learn it by observing others, absorbing norms from their environment and making mistakes that quietly damage their professional reputation before they realise what has happened.

The unwritten rules of professional behaviour – how to communicate reliably, how to manage relationships across a multi-generational team, how to take ownership and be accountable, how to present yourself in ways that command genuine respect – are rarely spelled out. But they are always noticed.
